RJE MENTORS

List of RJE Mentors in NL

The success of restorative justice in education is deeply dependent on mentoring and support from within our education system. The following is a list of current educators in Newfoundland and Labrador who have knowledge, experience, and training in restorative justice education. We invite you to reach out to them for collaboration, consultation, and conversation as we work collectively toward restorative, relational school cultures in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Mike Barbour

Brings restorative, relational approaches into classrooms, teams, and community groups. Understands rje as something experienced through deep conversation, meaningful connection, and relationships grounded in respect and dignity.

Adrien Doucet

Engages with rje at the classroom and whole-school level, with a focus on peer relationships and accountability in K–6 settings. Co-facilitated ED6463, led professional learning for staff and students, and presented at rje conferences.

Lynette Geehan

Educator with experience in restorative justice professional learning, ED6463, and multiple rje conferences. Uses weekly talking circles to support classroom relationships and mentors other educators exploring restorative justice practices.

Sarah McDonald Moores

RJE Coordinator with RFNL and instructor of ED6463 at Memorial University. Supports educators, schools, and communities in engaging with restorative justice in education through circle pedagogy, relational learning, and accountability.

Jessica Webb

Retired K–12 educator and longtime RFNL contributor with experience in Safe and Inclusive Schools, Memorial University course instruction, and RJ facilitation across education, community, and justice contexts. Holds an RJ certificate from SFU.

Alyssa Brennan

Instructional Resource Teacher and Athletic Director with experience supporting rje in school and athletic contexts. Completed ED6463 and has shared professional learning on teaching, coaching, and student engagement through a restorative lens.

Jennifer Ducey

Educator since 2012 with experience as a teacher, IRT, and counsellor. Brings restorative justice into daily school life through circles, harm response, Safe and Caring work, staff and student workshops, Ignite-Ed, and RFNL Summer Institute conversations.

Dianne Hickey

Facilitates rje professional learning with K–12 educators, students, paraprofessionals, and families/caregivers. Supported a Learning and Leadership Gathering with Qalipu First Nation, Miawpukek First Nation, and Mi’kmaw Cultural Foundation.

Roxanne Skanes

Founding member of the RF-RJNL Consortium with extensive rje experience in administration, classroom circles, and circles for harm. Experienced facilitator and mentor who understands circle as key to building relationships.

Shelley Coleman

School administrator and teacher with restorative justice experience through Safe and Caring Schools, classroom teaching, and work with high school students and families. Learning has been shaped by Two-Eared Listening Conferences in 2021 and 2025.

Lesley Facey

Safe and Inclusive Schools Itinerant with experience facilitating at RFNL Summer Institutes, ULearn, and Ignite-Ed. Supports talking circles, practical classroom strategies, student connection, and restorative relationships.

Rod Jeddore

Director of an Indigenous school who brings restorative, relational practice into everyday leadership. Has attended and presented with RFNL, sharing how Indigenous ways of knowing and being continue to shape this work.

Émile Sopkowe

Facilitates professional learning in rje with early childhood educators, K–12 educators, and community partners. Brings experience exploring rje in relation to social justice education and 2SLGBTQ+ community contexts.
